Boiler
Hydronic heating systems have many advantages, including evenly distributed heat, quiet operation, and high efficiency. The core component of these systems is a hydronic boiler, which distributes heat through radiators, heated floors, walls or ceiling tubing, forced air handlers, and hydronic coils. The boiler heats water, which is then circulated by a pump to different parts of the house.
There are two major types of boilers:
- Cast Iron Boilers – These are typically naturally drafted with a cast iron heat exchanger and 80% efficiency. Due to their simplicity and durability, with proper maintenance, these boilers can last for decades. We have serviced and repaired cast iron boilers that have been in operation for over 50 years.
- Modulating Condensing Boilers – These modern boilers offer up to 95% efficiency by adjusting the gas input based on demand. They feature advanced electronic controls and superior comfort, thanks to their ability to optimize heat output. Most of them come with a stainless steel heat exchanger, making them lighter and allowing for wall-mounted installation.
In urban areas, wall-hung combi boilers are becoming increasingly popular as they provide both space heating and domestic hot water. Their compact design and wall-mounted installation help save valuable space.
